Welcome to my head.

It’s in our nature to want to get things done as quickly and painlessly as possible. But what about mastery? What about patience? How does one go about learning resilience? We must slow down for the things that matter. When we aim to avoid pain, we deprive ourselves access to the lessons buried within.

We often pour kindness, understanding, and deep care into those that matter to us. Yet, when we are in despair do not show ourselves that same love. If they are deserving, why aren’t you? Because knowing yourself so intimately, then choosing to love what you see, is freaking hard.

I used to believe there was so much I couldn’t do. The irony is, I was right. Not in the predictable sense, though. I couldn’t accomplish these tasks because I did not believe that I could. This idea is also incredibly freeing. It means that pure belief in something really works.

When you spend a lot of time in your head, it is easy to lose touch with reality. Self-limiting beliefs run rampant in places there is no fact-checking. If you are tired of negative thoughts controlling you, take action. Even the smallest step brings you closer to the truth.
