Are you struggling with grief? I recently read a profound story about a grief-stricken woman who brought her dead child to the Buddha in hopes that he could bring him back to life. The Buddha told her in order for him to do that, she needed to go out and find a mustard seed from a house where death had not visited. Initially inspired by the idea, she soon discovered that she couldn’t find a house who hadn’t lost a father, a mother, a child… This made her realize the reality of the nature of death. She was then able to stop grieving and release her predicament of “only my child has died”.
