Cognitive Distortions

Does your mind tend to exaggerate? If you struggle with anxiety your response might be, hell to the yes.

How to cure this? I’m not sure I’d go so far as to say cure but keeping a close watch on your thoughts can sure help.

“I’ll never finish this!”

“This is impossible!”

“Wow, that brush off must mean they hate me.”

All of these statements are predicated on faulty assumptions. And they frazzle you! Shit, they frazzle me. But when we take a moment, even a brief one, we can see the huge leaps our minds make. To some, this message is like yeah yeah cool. But to others, paying attention to their cognitive distortions then lovingly poking holes in their non-existent logic, can prevent hours of distress.
